Delete your Konsta.app account

Email constantine.reka@gmail.com from the address you use to sign in, with the subject “Konsta.app account deletion”. Ask to delete your account and associated data. If you no longer have access to that address, include your account email in the request; I'll verify ownership before deleting anything. Never send your password.

After verifying your request, I'll delete your account, sign-in details, saved lessons, vocabulary, practice history and account-linked uploads. I'll respond within 30 days. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion; backups may retain it for up to 90 days before they are purged.

Introduction

I'm committed to protecting your privacy while you learn Estonian. This policy explains what data I collect, how I use it, and your rights regarding your information.

By using Konsta.app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information I Collect

Account Information

• Email address: Used for account creation, login, and communication
• Native language preference: To provide translations in your language
• Password: Securely hashed and stored (I never see your actual password)

Learning Data

• Lesson progress: Which lessons you've completed, listened to, or are working on
• Vocabulary scores: Your mastery level (0-5) for each Estonian word you practice
• Practice history: How often you review words and lessons

Usage Data

• Analytics: Pages visited, features used, time spent learning and approximate location inferred from IP address
• Technical information: Browser type, device type, IP address and error reports with diagnostic details

User-Uploaded Content

• Photos/images: Photos uploaded to create lessons are stored with your account and sent to Google Gemini for analysis
• Custom topics: Any custom lesson topics or vocabulary you request

Note: I don't ask you for your full name, address, phone number, or payment information (the service is free!).

How I Use Your Information

• Personalize your learning: Show you lessons appropriate for your level and track your progress
• Track vocabulary mastery: Remember which words you know well and which need more practice
• Generate lessons: Use AI (Google Gemini) to create relevant dialogues and exercises
• Generate audio: Use text-to-speech providers to create native Estonian pronunciation
• Improve the platform: Understand how people use Konsta.app to make it better
• Communicate: Send important updates about the service (rare, I promise!)

Third-Party Services

To make Konsta.app work, I use these external services:

Google Gemini (AI)

I send your level, topic, vocabulary preferences, and photos you choose to upload to Google's Gemini API to generate lessons and analyze images. Google processes this data according to their privacy policy.

Text-to-Speech Providers

I use multiple TTS services (Google Cloud TTS, Azure Speech, ElevenLabs) to generate native Estonian audio. Estonian text is sent to these services to produce pronunciation audio.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics receives app usage and device/browser information to measure visits and improve the service. You can decline analytics cookies through the cookie settings.

Hosting

Konsta.app is hosted on Hetzner servers in Germany, which means your data is stored in the EU under GDPR protection.

Important: I do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.

Data Security

• Hashed passwords: Your password is stored using bcrypt hashing
• HTTPS: All data transmitted between your device and my servers is encrypted
• Secure storage: Database access is restricted and regularly monitored
• Regular updates: I keep the platform software up-to-date with security patches

However, no system is 100% secure. While I take reasonable precautions, I can't guarantee absolute security (no one can).

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: Request a copy of all data I have about you
• Correction: Update your email or language preference anytime
• Deletion: Request account and associated data deletion
• Export: Download your vocabulary list and learning progress
• Object: Stop processing your data for specific purposes

For deletion, follow the steps above. For other requests, contact me via the Contact page. I'll respond within 30 days.

Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data is kept as long as your account is active
• Deleted accounts: Data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion
• Backups: May remain in backups for up to 90 days, then permanently purged

Children's Privacy

Konsta.app is not intended for children under 13 years old. I don't knowingly collect data from children. If you're a parent and believe your child has provided me with personal information, please contact me and I'll delete it immediately.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this privacy policy from time to time. When I do, I'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the landing page or via email.

Continued use of Konsta.app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
